On Behalf of | Jan 24, 2019 | Motor Vehicle Accidents

Drivers have to do all they can to pay attention to the road and obey the rules of the road. When a driver isn’t paying attention, falls asleep or makes an error, others may end up paying the consequences. This is why it’s so pressing for drivers to put down their phones, get enough rest and to be prepared to drive.

This is an example of how a single person can change the lives of many. An off-duty police officer was involved in a head-on collision and died, according to news out of Chicago. The Jan. 22 report described the crash, which occurred on the Southwest Side, as a head-on collision.

The officer, 39, was on his way to Christ Hospital, where he had a work assignment. A 21-year-old woman driving a jeep suddenly drifted into oncoming traffic and in front of the deputy’s vehicle. This led to the head-on crash that resulted in the officer’s death.

Presently, the police haven’t reported the cause of the woman’s actions. She was seriously hurt as well, but her condition was stabilized at the time of the report.

In this case, one person was hurt, and another was killed as a result of a driver’s errors. In your case, you or your loved ones may be mourning the deaths of those you love or struggling to overcome injuries of your own. It is important to do all you can to hold those responsible accountable for their actions. Although it won’t help bring back a loved one or heal your injuries, having financial support is necessary during difficult times in your life.
