4 hospitalized after car accident

An accident near the end of last month put four people in the hospital. The Chicago Tribune reported that the crash happened in unincorporated Lake Villa.

The wreck was between a 2004 Acura, a 2013 Ford, and a 2013 Hyundai. A 22-year-old was driving the Acura, and police say he went over the center line and into oncoming traffic after losing control of the car. There, the smaller car smashed into the 2013 Ford Escape.

After those two vehicles hit each other head on, in one of the most violent types of accidents possible, the 2013 Hyundai smashed into the back of the small SUV. The driver apparently tried to avoid the wreck but couldn't get out of the way in time.

There were three people in the Escape, and they all ended up at Advocate Condell Medical Center, which is located in Libertyville. Their injuries, though serious enough for hospitalization, were not considered life-threatening. The lone person in the Hyundai wasn't hurt.

The 22-year-old who started the entire wreck was also taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center. His injuries weren't life-threatening, but he did cause serious damage to every vehicle, and he was cited by the police for improper lane usage and failing to avoid the wreck by reducing his speed.

When multiple people are injured in an accident, which can happen in just a split second, those people need to know if they have a right to seek compensation. Medical bills can be significant, even for minor injuries, when people are forced to spend time in the hospital. Compensation can help cover those costs, lost wages, pain and suffering, and more.
