Premises liability lawsuit filed against construction company

When workers report to a job site, they likely expect that the company they are working for will properly maintain the work site in a way that will keep them safe. For workers who are working out in the elements, working in a safe environment is vital to ensure safety. One construction worker has recently filed a premises liability lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court claiming that he was injured because of negligence by Riley Construction Company, Inc.

The job site accident occurred on April 18, 2013, according to the complaint. The man says that he was installing heavy windows at a site on North Gary Avenue in Carol Stream at the time of the incident. He claims the ground was unstable and muddy, which caused him to trip. When he tripped, he asserts that he was injured.

At the time of the accident, the man was employed by Underland Architectural Systems Inc. at the time of the accident, but was working on a job site for Riley Construction Company. He is seeking damages that satisfy the amounts required for the jurisdiction. He claims the construction company responsible for the jobsite didn't provide him with a safe place to work and that the company didn't maintain the work area.

Getting injured while doing your job can have serious consequences. You might have to take time off of work, which could put a financial strain on you and your family. Anyone who has been injured at work because of the failure of the company to provide a safe work environment might be able to seek compensation for lost wages and other claims.
