I just wanted to drop you a line to thank you for everything you are doing for me. I know this process isn't over yet but it means so much to me. I just want you to know what a possible settlement means to me and how it will positively affect my life.

Since 2007 I've been involved in a horrible divorce/custody battle. My ex wife has a serious IV drug problem and proving her unfit has been a significant challenge despite overwhelming evidence. The whole family court process is a frustrating mess. Everything I have done since 2007 has been geared to providing a safe and positive environment for my daughter to grow up in.

The car accident in '08 derailed a most of the things I was working on. I was newly divorced and trying to find someplace to live. I had just purchased the car that was involved in the accident....it was barely 2 months old and had only 3,000 miles on it. I worked VERY hard to acquire that car. I scraped together $4,000.00 for a down payment....my credit was so bad after the divorce that only one bank would finance me for a car loan. By the time the accident happened I was unable to get another car loan. I even had to leave my job because I was no longer able to travel reliably around the Chicagoland area. I had been working every day in Lake Forest....after the accident I didn't have a safe way of getting to work. In fact, I wound up with a 1995 Ford Contour with 185,000 miles on it. I purchased it for $700.00.....I'm very lucky the car has made it from January 2009 to the present day. To make things worse.....when the insurance company didn't pay my medical bills it made my credit FAR worse. In fact....when I did save enough money to get an apartment I was unable to get one. Rental agencies would run my credit report and send me away. I wound up living with friends until just a few months ago.

That accident cost me my job.....future earnings....and a foothold on getting my life back on track for my daughter's sake.....not to mention my physical injuries. One woman's negligence cost my daughter and I so much. Any settlement will go a long way to helping my daughter and I start a new life.
